WHAT'S WRONG WITH THIS GENERATION WOMAN?

In a world where women are expected to uplift one another and build strong communities, it's painful to witness the growing trend of women turning on each other over men. One African woman recently spoke out, her words echoing deeply across social media:

“What’s wrong with this generation of women? These days, you hear of women fighting, even killing each other, simply because her man is dating another woman. Why? When did we become like this?”

Her message wasn't just emotional—it was a reflection of real frustration. And she didn’t hold back. She continued:

“The truth is, today’s world is full of lazy and greedy women who don’t want to do anything for themselves. They think a man is their source of life, their shortcut to comfort, their proof of value. That’s why they’re ready to destroy another woman just to hold onto a man.”

It’s a harsh truth, but one worth unpacking.

Dependency, Jealousy, and a Shifting Identity

In past generations, women built their lives around values—family, dignity, resilience, and community. But today, some women have fallen into the trap of believing that their entire identity rests on keeping a man. So when he strays (as some men do), they direct their anger not at him, but at the woman he's seeing.

But this speaker makes one point very clear:

“No woman owns any man. A man is not property. If he wants to leave, let him go. And if he wants to marry more than one woman—and he can afford to—then that's his reality and his right.”

Whether or not one agrees with polygamy, her point remains: many of today’s conflicts between women stem from possessiveness, pride, and dependency—not love or respect.

A Call to Rise Above

This woman isn’t calling for women to be weak. She's calling for them to be strong in a different way—to build themselves, to focus on purpose, and to stop fighting battles that do not serve them.

Her final message is one that deserves reflection:

“A strong woman does not fight another woman over a man. This generation needs to wake up.”

In a time when women have more opportunities than ever before—education, entrepreneurship, leadership—it’s time to rise above petty fights and focus on growth. After all, if we truly want to change the world, it starts with how we treat one another.
